Deutsch: 18.07.1986 DDR-3283 [39319] Jerichow: Ehemaliges Prämonstratenserkloster, gegründet 1144 von Erzbischof Hartwig I. von Bremen. Norbert von Xanten hatten den Orden 1120 in Nordfrankreich ins Leben gerufen. Die Stiftskirche St. Marien und St. Nikolaus (GMP: 52.502440,12.015960) ist ein spätromanischer Backsteinbau, Hauptbauzeit 2. Hälfte 12. Jahrhundert. Westfassade und Türme entstanden 1256-1262, ein Werk der Frühgotik. Die zwei oberen Turmgeschosse sind aus dem 15. Jahrhundert. Seit der Reformation Pfarrkirche, wurde das Kloster zunächst Domäne, seit 1945 war es Volksgut. 1955-60 sind Kriegsschäden behoben worden. Als nahezu vollständig erhaltene romanische Klosteranlage gehört sie zugleich zu den ältesten Backsteinbauten im norddeutschen Raum.
