Deutsch: 10.07.1985 DDR 5900 [99817] Eisenach: Die Wartburg, 411 m ü. NHN gelegen, wurde um 1067 von Ludwig dem Springer erbaut. Wie kaum eine andere Burg Deutschlands ist die Wartburg mit der Geschichte Deutschlands verbunden. Die heutige Burg ist größtenteils im 19. Jahrhundert unter Einbeziehung weniger erhaltener Teile neu gebaut worden. Ihr heutiges Erscheinungsbild geht auf den Großherzog Carl Alexander von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach zurück. Landgraf Ludwig II. (reg. 1140-1172) war der wichtigste Bauherr der Ludowinger. Unter seiner Leitung entstand ca. 1156-1162 der Palas (GMP: 50.965780,10.306830). Die dritte Etage (2. OG) nimmt der 40 Meter lange Festsaal ein, der auf den ursprünglichen Baukörper aufgesetzt wurde, nachdem die Wartburg Residenz der Ludowinger geworden war. Heute mit Ausstattung von 1867.
