Deutsch: 08.07.1985 DDR 6521 [07616) Thalbürgel (Bürgel) Klosterstraße 23: Die Kirche des 1133 gegründeten Benediktiner-Klosters Thalbürgel ist zu einem beachtlichen Teil in der heutigen Dorfkirche St. Maria und St. Georg (GMP: 50.935767,11.750167) enthalten. Sie wurde als romanische Basilika mit flacher Decke seit etwa 1142 erbaut. Sie ist eine dreischiffige Pfeilerbasilika mit kreuzförmigem Grundriss, einer ebenfalls dreischiffigen, zweijochigen Vorhalle im Westen und zwei Türmen in den Winkeln zwischen westlicher Querhauswand und den Wänden des Mittelschiffs. Die Vorhalle, der Chor und das Querhaus sind jedoch zum großen Teil nur in Grundmauern und Resten des aufgehenden Mauerwerks erhalten. Nach der Auflösung des Klosters 1526 verfiel die Kirche. 1883 begann die Wiederherstellung des romanischen Langhauses. Gesamtrestaurierung seit 1964. [F19850708A52.JPG]19850708230NR.JPG(c)Blobelt |
