| Description |
The XE Falcon was built from March 1982-Oct 1984. The XE was a facelift on the XD, it got a new nose; the bonnet rolling over to meet the grille, also new taillights. Rear 4 link coil suspension was also new on the sedans, (the commercials retaining the old leaf). Fuel injection was introduced on the 4.1 in 1983 Sedans were available in GL, Fairmont and Fairmont Ghia Wagons in GL or Fairmont, Ute and Van in Standard or GL The GL came with 3.3 6 cyl, manual, cloth trim, steel wheels The Fairmont with 4.1 6 cyl, auto, cord trim, steel wheels Fairmont Ghia; 4.1 6 cyl, wider headlights incorporating driving lights, auto, velour trim, full instrumentation, Snowflake alloys Two option packs were available on the Sedans; The S pack; (on GL only) fog lamps, round slotted wheels, full instrumentation. spoiler and stripes The ESP option on the Ghia; 2 tone, charcoal lower with either Sierra tan or gun metal grey upper and orange stripe, Scheel seats, Gold Snowflake alloys, Fog lamps, front spoiler, upgraded suspension, LSD and 4 wheel discs. Engines; 89kw 3.3 6 cyl, 105kw 4.1 6 cyl, 140kw 4.9 V8 and 149kw 5.8 V8 (no V8s were produced in the Falcon after 1982) |
