[edit]Description1983 03 31 Neg 35a OG Alter Flugplatz danach Ponyclub.jpg |
English: Offenburg in 1983. View from the 'Südring' embankment towards the former hangars of Offenburg aerodrome, some of them dating back to 1934, when the N.S.F.K. erected their first hangar (actually, the first flying activities had taken place in 1911 already on this former military exercise ground). Following the relocation of the airfield and the commissioning of its new installations southeast of the former site in 1976, they have since been used by the Ponyclub Offenburg Süd e.V. However, the aviation-related wall art for 'BP Viscostatic' motor oil from the early 1960ies are still carrying the spirit of flight, reminding of the original use as hangar. In the right margin of the photo the 'B' of the former hangar of the Burda-Staffel, painted blue and white, like the Piper PA 18-Super Cubs they flew, is still visible. In the foreground runs the Königswaldstraße, and behind the buildings, the trees of the Königswald can be seen. |
