Mint Julip The LH Torana was built from March 1974-Feb 1976. The LH was longer and wider car than the LJ it replaced, not one body panel was carried over, of course a new interior and now available with not only 4 and 6 cylinder engines, but a V8 as well. All LH Toranas were 4 door sedans, generally with rectangular headlights (L34 round like later LX Torana) 4 cylinder cars got the 1900cc Opel engine, available in base S or upspec SL. The grille on 4 cyl cars was segmented into 4 parts, (6cyl and V8s, one piece rectangular grille) 6 cylinder cars were the S and SL with 118hp 2850cc or SL/R 135hp 3300cc. V8s were 185hp 4200cc or 240hp 5000cc SL/Rs and the limited L34 version with 350hp The SL/Rs were the performance models, They gained full instrumentation, radial ply tyres, rally striping and a four speed floor shift manual, The SL/R 5000 got front and rear spoilers, the race ready L34 version, bolt on flares as well .
