Electric Blue. The XY Falcon was built from Oct 1970- March 1972 A mild facelift of the XW Falcon, the XY got a new divided plastic grille and revised tail lights. The XY was the best of the 2nd generation Aussie Falcons and in GT and GTHO form is one of the most collectible Australian cars today. The XY GTHO version won Bathurst in 1971 Engines; The 6 cylinder engines were increased to 200 and 250, and better breathing 250 2V option or 302 and 351 V8s Sedan; Standard, 500, Futura, Fairmont, GT and GTHO Wagon; Standard, 500 or Fairmont Ute; Standard, 500 or in 1972 a 4WD Van; Standard GS option on 500, Futura and Fairmont This is the rare 4X4 version of the utility, 432 were built at the Ford plant in Brisbane for use by the Electrical Commision They were built with a lot of Jeep Wagoneer parts, the diffs took a while to arrive, by the time they were ready to go, the XA was on sale, they ended up with the XA high back bench seat and the ignition on the column like the XA.
