Description

The Buick Motor Company was formed in 1903, it was General Motors' upmarket car, second only to Cadillac. The Riviera 2 door Hardtop personal luxury car was introduced in 1963, redesigned for 1966, a more curvaceous body, a shell it now shared with the Oldsmobile Toronado, and the Cadillac Eldorado. The 1971-73 third generation Riviera was radically redesigned with flowing lines and a boat tail rear end, including a 2 piece vee butted fastback rear window. The optional Gran Sport package was still available. Engine was 255hp 455 cu in V8 (the GS got 265hp) Also available in 1972, the Skylark and Skylark Custom, 150 or 180hp 350 cu in V8s, in 2 door Hardtop, Convertible, 4 door Sedan and 2 door Hardtop Sun Coupe. The Grand Sport, the base 260hp 350, 315hp 455 and 345hp GS Stage 1, in 2 door Hardtop and Convertible The 123 inch wheelbase LeSabre and LeSabre Custom, 180hp 350 or 250hp 455 cu in, was available in 4 door Sedan, 2 or 4 door Hardtop and Convertible.

The top of the line Electra 225, 225 Custom, 225 Limited and Centurion, 250hp 455 cu in, available in 2 or 4 door Hardtop.
