Description

The Datsun 1600 was built from 1968-73, it was also known in some countries as the 510 Bluebird. It was available as a 2 and 4 door sedan, 2 door coupe and a 5 door station wagon. 4 door sedans and station wagons were also assembled in Australia and New Zealand. A very successful rally car. The sporty 1600 SSS won the East Africa Safari Rally, one of the world's toughest motor sport events. It got full instrumentation, black interior trim, SSS sports steering wheel, SSS gear knob, twin SU carbys and 109hp 1970 saw an update to the dashboard, taillights and the grille had more definite chrome bars top and bottom, in between was black The Datsun 510 1600 was replaced by the 610 180B in 1972, Some of these later 510 model Datsuns, got the 610s larger 1800cc engine.
