Olds Motor Vehicle Co. was founded by Ransom E. Olds in 1897. In 1908 absorbed by General Motors, a mid spec car in GMs range of cars. Oldsmobile was phased out in 2004. The 1968-72 third generation F-85 saw a major restyle, they got coke bottle styling, 2 door models got a semi fastback roofline and rode on a shorter wheelbase than the four doors. 1969 saw a minor facelift, now a split grille with vertical bars and vertical taillights. Available in 1969 was; The base F-85 was available in 2 door Coupe, 4 door Sedan and Wagon (standard with 155hp 250 cu in 6 cyl, optional 350 cu in V8) Cutlass in 2 door Sport Coupe, 4 door Hardtop, Sedan and Wagon Cutlass 'S' in 2 door Hardtop, Sport Coupe and Convertible The top Cutlass Supreme in 2 and 4 door Hardtops, 4 door Sedan and Convertible The 4-4-2 muscle car, with bucket seats, console and a Hurst Dual-Gate shifter, in 2 door Hardtop, Sport Coupe and Convertible. Standard with 360hp 400 cu in (Limited production Hurst/Olds with 400hp 455 cu in V8) Full size cars for 69 were; the 124 inch wheelbase Delta 88, Delta 88 Royale and the longer 127 inch wheelbase '98' The front wheel drive Toronado 2 door Hardtop available from 1966 |
