The ADO16 was styled on the Mini with front wheel drive, it came in many badge engineered versions, the 1st, in 1962 was the Morris 1100, the similar Austin 1100 introduced in 1963, the twin carb MG 1100 and top of the line Vanden Plas later in 1962 and finally, the upmarket Riley and Wolseley in 1965. The 1962-67 Mk I MG 1100 was initially only available as a 2 door, the 4 door available later. The MG 1300 Mk II update came in 1968 (the 1100 continued only for a short while), the Mk II got new rear lights, instruments and seats After 1971 only the Austin/Morris 1300 GT was available Engine; 1275cc 4 cyl |
