| Description |
The HR Holden was built from April 1966-Jan 1968. Although first look suggests just a facelift on the HD, most panels were changed on the HR with a larger rear window, revised grille (indicators now in grille rather than below it), square HD taillights replaced with taller vertical taillights. Also the suspension was improved and it got a widened track. Engines got more power due to larger capacity, 161 and 186. Like the HD, the HR was available in three models; Standard; 161 cu in, rubber floor mats and single tone paint. Special; carpet, stainless steel side moulds, satin silver dash, 186 cu in option, two tone paint option. Premier; 186 cu in, auto, disc brakes, bucket seats, mock woodgrain to the dash, doors and console, radio, heater, satin silver panel across boot and special wheel trims. The high performance X2 was carried over from the HD but replaced in June 1967 with 186S (single 2 barrel carb rather than twin carb of X2) Engines; 114hp 161 or 126hp 186 red 6 cyls (145hp on X2 and S) Sedans; Standard, Special or Premier Wagons; Standard, Special or Premier also Utility and Panel Van |
