English: Sign displaying the purpose of Tigerland - The Advanced Infantry Training center at Fort Polk as it existed March - June 1968. The Tiger at the top represents the hunting spirit that would be instilled in the men trained here. The shield on the left with "3" in it represents the Third Training Brigade whose motto is spelled vertically on the left "Fight - Win". The shield on the right with "5" in it represents the Fifth Training Brigade whose motto is spelled vertically on the right "Engage & Destroy". Underneath the word "Tigerland" at the top is a graphic depicting the "Combat Infantryman Badge" which is conferred upon those who have fought in battle in war as trained Infantrymen in an infantry unit. |
