Description

In 1928, Chrysler acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers and also established Plymouth and DeSoto brands. Plymouth was Chryslers lowest priced car, Dodge was next, then Desoto and Chrysler was top of the line. Three different wheelbases were available in 1966. The C body full size Dodge was the Polara, the base model, the Monaco was the upmarket model, the Monaco 500 was a 2 door Hardtop. The Coronet was the B body mid size model, the 1965-70 fifth generation Coronet was built on the Mopars B Body mid size platform, it was available in 4 models; The base 2 door Hardtop, Mid spec Deluxe (2 and 4 door Sedan and Wagon), Then the 440 (Convertible, 2 door Hardtop, 4 door Sedan and Wagon) Top spec was the Coronet 500 (Convertible, 2 door Hardtop and 4 door Sedan). The Dodge 2 door Hardtop Charger muscle car was also introduced in 1966. The A body Dart was the compact, base 170, then 270 and the sporty GT.
