Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 1966 AMC Ambassador DPL two-door hardtop (no "B" pillars) finished in white with black vinyl top. For the 1966 model year, the DPL was the top-trim model in the luxury full-sized cars that were now marketed as the "AMC Ambassador" starting in 1966. This car has the optional "Custom" interior featuring reclining bucket seats upholstered in unique Houndstooth Check fabric (included were matching throw pillows from the factory) and matching fabric on the door panels. The Custom interior upgraded the door and side panels to genuine walnut trim, including the black vinyl-covered roof. Center armrests in the front and rear were also standard. This car has a console-mounted "Shift-Command" automatic transmission, a tilt steering wheel, Turbo-Cast full-wheel covers, and additional convenience features. Power is AMC's 327 cu in (5.4 L) V8 engine. This car was initially delivered to an AMC dealer in Winnipeg, Canada - Leonard and McLaughlin Motors. Taken during the American Motors Owners Association (AMO) annual convention in June 2024, organized by the Potomac Ramblers Club at the Keystone Truck and Tractor Museum in Petersburg, Virginia.
