Description
English: The Ainey Mansion at the Southeast corner of Fifth and Hamilton Street being torn down in 1966. The home was the home of William H. Ainey, built about 1870. Ainey was a prominent attorney; the publisher of the Lehigh Register Newspaper; a banker and founder of the Second National Bank. After Ainey died in 1907, the home remained in his family until early 1960 when it was sold and converted into professional offices. Today the site is the location of the United States Courthouse and Federal Building.
