1965 Toyota 700 this description from the now missing museum section of the dealer website: When Toyota first came to Canada in 1965, they offered only 2 models. The Toyota 700 and a larger 4 door Crown Sedan. Standard equipment for the 700 model included a 2 cylinder, air-cooled engine, and 2 speed automatic transmission. The heater was an option along with the cigarette lighter. The only other option offered was a radio. Heninger Toyota acquired this Toyota 700 in September of 1991 in poor but running condition. Our dedicated staff in the Paint and Auto Body department decided to take on this restoration project which was completed in October 1993. We think they have done an admirable job, totally consistent with their usual high quality work. They have proven once again, no matter how bad a car is damaged, it can always be repaired back to factory specifications so long as you can justify the cost. This Toyota 700 when new, sold for $1798. Its estimated value today is approximately $10 000. |
