Medium Turquoise From 1962, Fords mainstream cars were available in three sizes; the compact Falcon, the mid sized Fairlane and the full size Galaxie. The 1965-68 Galaxies were an all-new design, featuring vertically stacked dual headlights, they were taller and bulkier. The base model was the Custom and Custom 500 (2 and 4 door Sedan) The mid spec Galaxie 500 got extra mouldings, carpet and sill moulds (4 door Sedan, 4 door Fastback Sedan, 2 door Fastback Coupe and 2 door Convertible). The sporty model was the Galaxie 500XL, it got a more refined interior, bucket seats. floor shift and chrome trim (2 door Fastback Coupe and 2 door Convertible). The top of the line Galaxie LTD got special upholsterey, walnut appliques on the lower edge of the instrument panel, courtesy lights and a clock (4 door Hardtop Sedan and 2 door Fastback). Also available was the 4 door Ranch and Country wagons. Engines; 150hp 240 cu in 6 cyl, 200hp 289, 250hp 352, 300hp 390 and 425hp 427 cu in V8s |
