Description

These smaller Austin Healeys, the Sprites were built from 1958-71, The Mk II Sprite replaced the unique Mk I 'Bugeye' Sprite (with headlights on top of the bonnet), the Mk II got a more conventional look, headlights in the guards and a proper boot. The engine was much the same tho. An MG version was also made called the The Mk III was similar to the Mk II, but now the Sprite got wind up side windows, curved windscreen, quarter light windows and exterior door handles. 1958 MkI; The Bugeye Sprite, 948cc. 1961 MkII; Same engine , new body. (MG Midget Mk I) 1962 Mk II; bigger 1098cc engine and disc brakes. 1964 MkIII; Curved screen, wind up windows, hinged quarter light windows and exterior door handles. (MG Midget MkII)

1966 MkIV; now 1275cc (MG Midget Mk III)
