The Cadillac Automobile Company was founded in 1903. In 1909 Cadillac was acquired by General Motors, GMs premier luxury car. For 1961, the Cadillac was restyled and re-engineered, a bit more of a subtle look. 1963 got a facelift, the Cadillac looked bolder and longer, headlights were outside the grille, the hood and deck lid redesigned. 1964 was only slightly updated with a body coloured central bar through the grille. Models available in 1964; Series 62; Entry level 130in wheelbase, again available with either the 6 window 4 door Hardtop; small qtr light windows and slim pillars, or the 4 window 4 door Hardtop, no rear qtr lights and a thicker rear pillar. Also available was the 2 door Hardtop and 2 door Convertible. Series 63 deVille; 130 in wheelbase deVille badge on rear fender, power seats and power windows; 4 door 6 window Hardtop, 4 door 4 window Hardtop and 2 door Hardtop. Series 64 Eldorado; 130 in wheelbase, 2 door Biarritz convertible. Series 60 Special; luxury 130in wheelbase, only available as a 4 door hardtop, rear pillars wrapping around and a smaller rear window. Series 75 Fleetwood; 150in wheelbase, 4 door pillared sedan or 4 door limousine.
