Ferrari 250 GT Lusso

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso s/n 5233, taken at the Hampton Court Concours 2020.
Sold by Joe Macari around 2018 with the following advertisement text: "The stunning LHD example we are offering is chassis no 5233, first delivered to the Roman dealer in November 1963, finished in Azzuro over Pella Bleu. The car was purchased new four months later by a Pakistani businessman who was a frequent visitor to Europe and acquired the car during one of his trips there. The Lusso was transported to Pakistan and was registered in Karachi on the 5th May 1964.

Remarkably, 5233 remained in the ownership of the same family for 50 years until 2014! During that time the car covered just over 16,000 miles and the exterior was repainted in Rosso. The car left Pakistan for the first time in 2014 when it was sent to a marque specialist for an inspection prior to sale at auction. The car was confirmed to retain its matching numbers engine and gearbox and was sold during the RM Sotheby's Monterey auction in August 2014.

Since being sold, the car has been subject to a no-expense spared restoration with Joe Macari Classics in London to return the car to its former glory. During the restoration the car underwent a full bare-metal respray back to its original Azzuro 19278 Metallic colour, whilst the interior was retrimmed to its original Pella Bleu leather with dark blue carpets. The restoration also featured a full mechanical overhaul of the bodywork, chassis, and running gear, whilst the engine and gearbox were also fully rebuilt.

The car sits today in sublime condition showing just over 16,300 miles and has recently been awarded Classiche Certification confirming its matching numbers. The restoration work is fully documented and is complete with a photographic album detailing the entire process. Restored to a very high standard and maintaining single family ownership for 50 years, 5233 GT is undoubtedly a superlative example of one of Maranello's most acclaimed models.
