This is NOT a 1963 Mini. If it were a 1963 Mini it would, or at least could, have been made by Austin, but it is NOT. It is a Mini of indisputable age, most likely a Mk 5 Mini made between 1993 and 1997 fitted with four spotlamps in the pattern only used on Minis during this period, as after 1998 they became illegal due to the small minimum distance between the two centre lamps. You would do best to remove this image from wikimedia commons, as it bears no connection to a 1963 Mini Cooper. Oh yeah, it is NOT from the Italian Job, neither the original film nor the L.A. Heist remake of the same name, as that Mini has numerous body differences. No matter what the poster of this image may say, it is WRONG.
As a description of the car underneath shows this is a 1999 Rover Mini Cooper S therefore could be used in The Italian Job: LA Heist which i admit is a bad remake of the film. FCS its not even in ITALY. obv much?
- The label alongside seems to suggest that this is the car driven by en:Charlize Theron (if my eyes are working right). That would suggest that it's a Mini from the remade film (the one we don't talk about), not the original. Note that it's also left-hand drive. Otherwise I'd agree with the other editor as to the likely date of this car being late '90s, certainly not 1960s. I would suggest though that this could well be a genuine film car (albeit not the genuine film) and the hotel's caption technical details are simply wrong on their part.
- There is no reason to delete this image. It's a genuine image, of a presumably genuine car, behind an incorrect sign. Deleting this would be an over-reaction like blowing the bloody doors off. Andy Dingley (talk) 21:10, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
