Description

The Isetta was originally designed and built in Italy in 1953 by Iso. It was a 2 seat, egg shaped compact car with bubble windows and the entire front end hinged outwards to allow entry. It had a 236cc 2 stroke engine.

In 1955 it was built in Germany by BMW, the headliamps were separated from the body, the 1st was the 250 with 236cc 4 stroke engine. In 1956 the 300 was introduced with larger 298cc engine and the bubble windows were replaced with flat sliding windows. A 600 was also available, a longer wheelbase, 4 seats and 582cc twin cyl engine.
