The Chrysler Corporation was founded in 1925. In 1928, Chrysler expanded, he established Plymouth and DeSoto brands and also acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers Motors and started selling vehicles under those names. 1955 saw a new more modern lower roofline, a new model was added to the Chrysler lineup, the high performance Chrysler C-300 2 door Hardtop. (300 for 300hp) really a racecar aimed at the NASCAR circuits that was sold for the road for homologation purposes. The front clip, including the grille, was taken from the Imperial of the same year, the midsection was from a New Yorker hardtop, with a Windsor rear quarter. In 1956, it was the 300B, with new tailfins and a larger engine. Also still available was the base model, the Windsor, in Sedan, Convertible, Town & Country Wagon and the Newport 2 door Hardtop. The upmarket model was the New Yorker, available in Sedan, Convertible, Town & Country Wagon and New Yorker Newport 2 door Hardtop, also the higher priced St. Regis 2 door Hardtop. The long Wheelbase Imperial and Imperial Crown were also still available. Engine; 354 cu in Hemi V8 with either 340 or 355 hp. Only 1,102 300 Bs were sold |
