Description

The 3rd Generation Chieftans, built from 1955-58, got a new chassis, body and engine. The 6 cyl was dropped and the 1st V8 in a Pontiac introduced. The base model was the Chieftan and top, the Star Chief. Typical for the 1955 Pontiacs is the design with two wide Silver Streaks running the length of the hood. Available in Sedan, Hardtop and Convertible.
