Description

Chevrolet introduced a new body in 1953, although still on the same frame and mechanicals of the 49-52 cars. For 1949-52, the Special was the base model, Deluxe the mid spec, and the Bel Air, introduced in 1950, and only available in 2 door coupe, was the top of the line. From 1953, base model was the 150, mid spec the 210 and top still the Bel Air, now available in all body styles. 2 and 4 door sedans were available, convertible and the 2 door Sports Coupe. 1954 saw a mild grille and tail light facelift, indicators now oval. (round in 1953) Chevrolet sedans were also produced in Australia by General Motors using modified American bodies from 1926-68.
