The Austin Motor Company of England built cars from 1905. In 1952 the Austin Motor Company merged with Morris Motors Limited to form BMC (British Motor Corporation), they sold Morris, Austin, Wolseley, Riley and MG cars. Austin introduced a new unibody car with a new look in 1954. The 1954-56 A40 Cambridge, 4 door Saloon, 42hp 1200cc 4 cyl The 1954-57 A50 Cambridge, overriders, 4 door Saloon, Australian Coupe Utility. Deluxe got more chrome. 50hp 1489cc 4 cyl The 1957-58 A55 Cambridge, restyled rear end, larger rear window, chrome grille surround. 4 door Saloon, Australian Coupe Utility. 51hp 1489cc 4 cyl. Pickup and Van were versions built from 1957-73, they got a revised grille and 1622cc engine from 1962. The 1954-56 A90 Westminster, a larger 4 door Saloon, 85hp 2639cc 6 cyl The 1956-59 A95 Westminster, update with a new look grille, restyled rear end, larger rear window. 4 door Saloon, 4 door Countryman Estate, 92hp 2639cc 6 cyl The A105 was a 102hp twin carby version of the A95 The 1957-60 Australian Morris Marshal was a badge-engineered version of the A95 with different grille, trim, and badges. |
