Summary

[edit]
Description

The new shape Pontiacs, introduced in 1949, were available in Chieftan Sedans and Coupes or the Streamliner Fastback Sedans and Coupes and in either Standard or Deluxe. Standard cars got rubber gravel guards and painted headlight rims, Deluxes had a chrome body strip, chrome wheel rings, chrome headlight rings and stainless steel gravel guards. For 1950, the horizontal grille bar wrapped around the corners of the body. 1951, chrome work changed again, a V was now seen in the centre of the grille.
