Summary

[edit]
Description
English: From the museum website:

The 1951 Mooney Mite, built in Wichita, is an all-wood single-seater with retractable gear, a cantilevered, laminar flow wing and a revolutionary forward-swept tail. This aircraft has been kept in spotless condition by volunteers and is still flyable. It must be stored indoors out of the elements. The Mite – which still has a loyal following more than half a century later – was the first airplane certified and built by Mooney Aircraft Corp. Aviation legend Al Mooney established the company in Wichita in 1946. The Mite was certified in 1948. Nearly 300 were built between 1948 and 1955. Mooney Aircraft Corp. moved in Kerrville, Texas, in 1953.
