English: 1951 Humber Pullman Royal Visit, 12 February 1954
The Queen and Prince Phillip greet excited onlookers in Cliff Drive, Katoomba. Our ID on the car is a long-chassis, 6 cylinder 4.1 litre, Humber Pullman convertible, 1951 Mk II model, originally imported for the planned earlier Royal Tour by King George VI (cancelled due his illness & subsequent death). The location is somewhere along The Cliff Drive between Katoomba and Leura, possibly near Banksia Park or Gordon Road. This would be after the reception at Echo Point because the party travelled straight there from Katoomba railway station via Lurline Street, then to Leura railway station via Cliff Drive and Leura mall.
