These small 4 cylinder Fords were built in this style from 1937-59, they replaced the Model C Ford 10. Mainly built in the UK, but from 1939, in Australia as well. Many different models were built over the years, from 1938, generally the Anglia was the 2 door and the Prefect was the 4 door; The 1937-38 7W Ten was the first, in 2 or 4 door Saloon. 1938-49 UK built E93A Prefect, E04A Anglia. 1939-45 Oz built E03A Prefect, the roadster was the E94A 1946-48 Oz built A53A Prefect, A54A Anglia. 1949-53 UK built E493A Prefect, E494A Anglia 1949-53 Oz built A493A Prefect, A494A Anglia. 1953-59 UK and Oz built 103E Popular In 1953 the new lower, more modern 100E was released, but the 103E Popular, the old shape, continued on as a budget model. Replacing the E93A, the English E493A and the Australian A493A, got an updated look, a new grille with vertical bars and the headlights were moved into the guards, rather than on top like the E93A. The Australian version got a longer boot and a steel rather than fabric centred roof. In Australia, not only was the 4 door saloon available, but their own coupe utility version as well.
