Summary
[edit]Description1950 DA radar movie.gif |
English: Arecibo radar movie of asteroid 1950 DA obtained during 48 minutes (37% of a rotation) on March 4, 2001. The radar illuminates the asteroid from the top, and each image frame shows the distribution of echo power in time delay (range from the radar) and Doppler frequency (line-of-sight velocity). Linear resolution is about 15 meters vertically. The asteroid is a slightly asymmetrical spheroid roughly 1 kilometer in average overall dimension. It was 7.8 million kilometers from Earth during these observations. Movie from S. Ostro (JPL). Details: https://cneos.jpl.nasa.gov/doc/1950da/ |
