Excerpt from 1950 Spruce Budworm Control Project. Oregon State Board of Forestry. Salem, Oregon. March, 1951:

"Specifications for the insecticide were prepared by the Bureau of Entomology and Plant Quarantine and were as follows:

Formulation: One pound of DDT to 1.25 quarts of auxiliary solvent, and sufficient fuel oil to bring the mixture to one gallon at 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The minimum flash point of the mixture to be less than 175 degree Fahrenheit."
