Title
194 9serrated edge blades .JPG
Description
English: 9 saws/ serrated edge blades
 Late Mesolithic-Neolithic
The sizes are 40mm long, 33mm wide, 11mm thick, to 25mm by 11mm by 4mm.

The largest example (40mm long, 33mm wide, 11mm thick) probably dates to the Neolithic, of which there are multiple flake scars on the dorsal and ventral sides, there is a serrated edge on one side 24 mm long.
All of the other artefacts are Late Mesolithic blade types, all have one dorsal running down the centre blade on both sides, one of which has had a series of small flakes removed in order to produce a serrated blade.

most have an off white patina with mid grey speckles, three of the blade types have a mid grey patina with off white speckles.

These are part of a large assemblage of 511 flints. See GLO-BCDA95 for further information on the rest of the assemblage.
