Description The first F-Series truck was introduced in 1948 as a replacement for the previous car-based pickup. It was the predecessor for the F100. From 1948 to 1950, the grille was a series of horizontal bars and the headlights were set into the fenders. The 1/2 ton F-1 ran mainly 239 Flathead V8s. Also available were 3/4 ton F-2s right up to 20 ton F-8s
