English: Plaque in the City Hall (formerly the Council House) of Bristol to inform to Bristols twinned city of Hannover in Germany with the following text:

Hannover

The City of Hannover in Germany
was officially twinned with Bristol in
1947 in the spirit of reconciliation after
World War II with the aim of creating
an stronger Europe and avoiding any
future disastrous conflicts.

The city of Hannover coat of arms
above was created and unveiled to
mark the 40th anniversary of the
twinning in 1987.

These plaque were funded by The Guild of Guardians,
a registered charity which supports the city and the
Lord Mayorality in Bristol. The Guild beleaves in the values
of international twinning for commercial prosperity and
educational and cultural benefits for all citizens of Bristol
and our seven twinned cities.
