Description1941 at Columbus, Ohio Airport-CMH.jpg |
1941 at Columbus, Ohio Airport-CMH "Physics class trip to airport, October 1941. Argus C2, Panatomic X, developed D-76" I wrote on a negative envelope that I just found. I was a senior at Worthington High chool at the time. Frank Pyle, our Physics teacher, later became a vice president of Gulf. I think the plane is a DC-3. The Columbus airport was in a small. building on Fifth Avenue. Looking at this photo reminds me of how simple it was to board a plane in those days. You just walked a few feet and climbed aboard. But it took lots more money to buy a ticket. |
