| Description |
It was an all new car for 1941, a wider body that nearly covered the running boards, the front fenders more integrated and the headlights moved right forward. The grille on the 1941 car had a tall centre section with a kidney shaped section either side. Also introduced in 1941 was the new 6 cyl (Model 1GA), sold along side the flathead V8 (Model 11A). Both the 6 cyl and V8 were available in 3 trim levels; The Special; black windshield surround, painted grilles, one taillight, one wiper and very basic interior. Only available in Grey (2 and 4 door Sedan and 2 door Coupe) The Deluxe; Smooth bumpers, the center grille was chrome. Outer grilles were body color. Inside, plastic grained dash, a clock and sunvisors. (2 and 4 door Sedan, 2 door Coupe and Wagon) The Super Deluxe; chrome trims, the whole grille was chrome, bumpers were profiled. Inside they had a special woodgrain dash. (2 and 4 door sedan, 2 door Coupe, Convertible and Woody Wagon). The 1941-48 Ford was also produced in Australia in V8 Sedan and unique to Australia, the Coupe Utility. Engines; 226 cu in L head 6 cyl or 221 cu in Flathead V8 |
