The 1938 Plymouth was available in the base P5 Buisness (later called Roadking), or upspec P6 Deluxe, The P5 series included a business coupe, 2 and 4 door fastback sedans, and 2 and 4 door touring sedans. The P6 series included business and rumble seat coupes, 2 and 4 door touring sedans, 2 and 4 door fastback sedans, a convertible coupe with rumble seat, wagon and 2 7 passenger sedans. Outwardly, the only noticeable difference between the P5 and P6 models was the lack of vent wing windows on the P5 cars The 1938 car was a mildly facelifted version of the '37 car, its fat waterfall grille and the bug-eyed head lamps mounted high on the sides of the radiator shell did little for the looks of the car.
