| Description |
The Lincoln Motor Company was originally founded in 1917 and since 1922 has been the luxury vehicle division of the American Ford Motor Company. The Lincoln-Zephyr was the smaller Lincoln, built from 1936-1948, Officially designated Series H, the 1936 Lincoln Zephyr was extremely modern for the time, with low raked windscreen and streamlined body, available in two body styles, a 4 door fastback sedan and a 2 door sedan coupe. 1937 saw 2 new body styles added, the 2 door Coupe and the Town Limousine, the only change, some of the grille bars were chrome. 1938 saw a Convertible Coupe and a Convertible Sedan added, new front sheet metal, more integrated fenders and a low profile split horizontal bar grille. In 1939, the hood and fenders were new again, grille bars now vertical 1940, looked similar, but wider and running boards are gone 1941, a more arched roofline, parkers moved up on top of fenders. This was the only one imported into New Zealand and has been in the same family since 1961 Engine; 110 hp 267 cu in V12 |
