Summary

[edit]
Description

July 13, 1937 “We came about 9 to the city of Redding – and there we saw our first palm trees growing by the city hall

“I went to one of the hotels and inquired. The prices were so high, I wouldn’t pay and walked out. I inquired for the best tourist court and found just one cabin left. This wasn’t fancy, but we took it. It was clean, but in the night, an army of ants arrived and took possession of one of the beds. Thus our reception in California.”
