[edit]Description1936 Francis Barnett Red Stag Sports Coventry Transport Museum.jpg |
Made in: Coventry (Lower Ford Street) Engine size: 248cc Top speed: 62mph Engine format: Single cylinder overhead valve Price new: 50 "Although most motorcyclists remember Francis Barnett as a producer of two stroke motorcycles, for a few brief years in the mid 1930s the range also included an attractive 247cc overhead valve machine called the Stag. Designed by Harry Hatch, the engine was made exclusively for Francis Barnett by Blackburne. The demise of the Stag was due to the closure of the Blackburne factory in 1937. This motorcycle is an example from the final year of production, being model G46 "Red Stag Sports" Coventry Transport Museum, UK. 2009 |
