| Description |
The 1935/36 Model 48 replaced the 40A with a lower body, the engine and grille were pushed forward giving more room in the cabin. The four cyl no longer available, all Ford cars were powered by the Flathead V8. There were still many body styles available; Flatback or Trunkback Sedans, Tudor, 3 or 5 window Coupes, Roadster, Phaeton and Woody Wagon. (no Victoria body now). The Model 48 got a facelift in 1936 with the hood now coming over the grille which now had just vertical bars, it was available in Standard or Deluxe. (Deluxe had a chrome windshield frame) also new for 1936 were the use of pressed steel artillery solid wheels instead of wire wheels. |
