Summary

[edit]
Description

Delage was a French luxury automobile and racecar company founded in 1905 by Louis Delage in Levallois-Perret near Paris; it was acquired by Delahaye in 1935 and ceased operation in 1953. The Delage D6 was their six-cylinder car produced from 1930-40 and again, after the war, from 1946-53. For 1937 Delage presented the D6-70. The car was effectively a rebadged D6-60S, which in turn was a derivation of the D6-60. Many elegant bodies were provided by independent coachbuilders, such as the Letourneur & Marchand 2 door Sports Saloon, the Chapron Cabriolet and the Autobineau Saloon. This Coupe was bodied by Figoni and Falaschi for the 1936 LeMans 24 hour race. The original car was lost during World War II, this body is an accurate copy, recreated from on a D6-70 Autobineaux Coupe by Melbourne coachbuilders Black Art
