| Description |
English: One definition of a Hot Rod was ‘a car that's been stripped down, souped up and made to go much faster.’ A lot of early Hot Rods were built from old Fords; Model Ts, Model As or Model Bs. Typical modifications were the removal of hoods, bumpers and fenders; chopping and channeling the body; and modifying the engine by tuning and/or replacing with a more powerful type.
Replacing the 1928-31 Model A was the Model B both with a 4 cylinder engine.. Introduced in 1932 was a V8 version, the 221 cu in Flathead V8 Model 18, built on the same platform, they shared body, chassis and trim. Again available in Standard or Deluxe and in a wide variety of body styles. The 3 window or Deluxe Coupe got rear hinged or 'suicide' doors |
