Description
English: Maserati-Bugatti (MB) Speciale at 1932 Targa Florio on 8 May. This entry #11 was driven by Clemente Biondetti, and apparently, a co-driver whose name is unknown. They did not finish.[1] Gave up in the fourth round.[2] It is a Bugatti chassis (possibly Type 35) with a Maserati engine (2,5 litre 8 cylinder) and grille.[3] M. Muller claims this was engine #2519 (delivered in March 1932 to Biondetti).[4] One source claims Biondetti few weeks earlier drove this car at the 1932 GP Roma.[5] Note: This is NOT the Luigi Premoli MB Speziale.
Speculation: The Maserati mechanic Luigi Parenti may be at the rear back, wearing his usual black beret headgear, looking worried. Not sure if he would be un-authorized to assist this hybrid, since Biondetti up until this year, had been a Bugatti driver.
