[edit]
Description

The Silver Ghost was produced for many years, lasting until 1922. In 1925 the New Phantom was introduced and it was given an improved Ghost chassis. 2 years later, work began on the Phantom II, it got improved steering and brakes and a wider rear track, the Phantom II was built from 1929-36, 1680 Phantom IIs were made. Only the chassis and mechanical parts were made by Rolls-Royce. The body was made and fitted by a coachbuilder selected by the owner. Some of the most famous coachbuilders who produced bodies for Rolls Royce cars are Park Ward, Thrupp & Maberly, Mulliner, Carlton, Henley, and Hooper. The Sedanca deVille had a town car style body with a closed rear passenger compartment and an open front section for the chauffeur.
