Boy and Girl Pilots, Both 19, Youngest Competitors in Tour. Miss Nancy Hopkins and Eddie Schneider Miss Nancy Hopkins, 19-year-old aviatrix, was one of the most Interesting pilots that landed here with National Air Tour fleet yesterday. Only one other tour pilot, Eddie Schneider, Junior trans-continental record holder, is as young as Miss Hopkins. whipcord breeches and leather boots, Miss Hopkins was hardly distinguishable from the rest of the pilots as she mingled with the crowd. She files a small, single seated Kitty Hawk ship, and does not carry a mechanic Her craft needs little servicing, she related, and that could be done by someone else at the stopping points. Asked if she were going to win the light plane trophy for which she is competing, as well as the tour trophy, Miss Hopkins smiled and replied "I don't think so. Last night I was 15th, out of 18 planes" The present tour is the first of this magnitude in which Miss Hopkins has participated. Her previous contest flying has been done only in one of the Dixie derbies. Schneider, modest young pilot who holds the record for the fastest flight across the continent by pilots of the Junior class, was another picturesque figure at the field. He is flying the same plane with which he set the record, but carries a mechanic with him. Miss Hopkins and Schneider both commented on the strong head winds they encountered coming here from Wausau. The steady breeze added several minutes to the flying time of all the ships on their morning hop.

Works copyrighted before 1964 had to have the copyright renewed sometime in the 28th year. If the copyright was not renewed, the work is in the public domain. No renewal notice was found for this periodical for issues published in this year. For instance, the first New York Times issue renewed was from April 1, 1928. Some publications may have renewed an individual article from an earlier time, for instance the New York Times renewed at least one article published on January 9, 1927. If you find any contrary evidence, or the renewal database has been updated, please notify me. No renewal notices have been found for articles supplied by the Associated Press to subscribing newspapers.
