Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 1930 AEC Regal T-Type coach No.T219 of the London General Omnibus Co.’s Green Line in their livery, at the London Transport Acton Depot Museum, 25 September 2021. This coach served as an ambulance in WWII after which it was returned to Green Line service until withdrawn in 1950. The Reliant Regal Srs.662 or T-Type was procured by LGOC for their new Green Line services from the country areas around London and the Central Area. They were in (intermittent) production for the longest period of any London bus/coach type – 801 being delivered in the 1929-48 period. The type comprised a huge variety of engines (petrol and diesel), bodies (with rear or front doors) and fittings such that the last production vehicles looked nothing like the earliest. Many were also extensively refurbished/re-engined. After WWII they were relegated to London Country bus services but the last was not withdrawn until 1962.
