Summary

[edit]
Description

A car for hunting tigers... (boo, hiss) that was discovered in the jungle in the 1970s. Note the snake-head figure on the air horn. "German Silver" is a nickel/zinc alloy that I usually encounter as high quality model railway tracks... good choice for a jungle car.

1926 Barker bodied Daimler 45 h.p. all-weather tourer.
Twin sets of folding side windows (one layer clear, one fitted with dark purdah glass) to conceal its owners two wives from public gaze.
Commissioned by Gulab Singh, Maharajah of Rewa.
A unique radiator inpired by Lanchester practice—a glass window in the header tank revealed the water level—the Daimler was panelled in German silver.
Its 23 year-old owner used it for tiger hunting.
